Mega Millions officials announced today that the jackpot for the Friday, May 1 drawing ended up being higher than estimated. Sales of Mega Millions tickets were stronger than expected, so the jackpot, which was estimated at $225 million before the drawing, ended up being $227 million.
Three tickets matched all six winning numbers. Those tickets, which were bought in Mill Valley, California, Cillicothe, Ohio and Woodford, Virginia split the jackpot equally - which comes out to $75.66 million each, before taxes.
