$25 million Mega Millions jackpot won in Washington State

RELEASE DATE: 7/20/2016

Washington’s Lottery is asking players to check their Mega Millions tickets, as the winning ticket for Tuesday night’s $25 million jackpot was sold in Washington.

The single ticket was sold at a retailer in Seattle. The winner matched all six numbers drawn (03-34-54-65-66 plus the Mega Ball 4). The lucky ticket holder will take home an estimated jackpot of $25 million ($17 million cash). This is Washington’s fifth Mega Millions jackpot winner – the second in 2016. Out of the last three Mega Millions jackpot winners, two have been from Washington State. The most recent Washington winner won $157 million in March.

In total, four jackpots have been won this year – two in Washington, one in New York, and the $536 million prize won July 8 in Indiana, which has yet to be claimed.

Washington’s Lottery advises players who believe they have a winning ticket to sign the back of the ticket and contact the Lottery for more information on validating their ticket and claiming their prize. Jackpots under $100 million can be claimed at any Washington’s Lottery regional office.

The jackpot resets at $15 million for the drawing on Friday, July 22.

Proceeds from Washington’s Lottery benefit the Washington Opportunity Pathways Account, providing grants to college students statewide. To learn more about Washington’s Lottery, its beneficiaries and to review all up-to-date winning numbers, please visit www.walottery.com.
