Two big Mega Millions winning tickets sold in August are still waiting for their lucky owners to come forward. Worth $1 million each, the tickets correctly matched the five white balls in their respective drawings, just missing the Mega Ball for the jackpot.
Check your tickets if you were in Michigan or Pennsylvania on the following dates:
Michigan, August 5: A $1 million winning ticket was sold at a CVS Pharmacy on 28th Street Southeast in Grand Rapids.
Pennsylvania, August 22: A $1 million winning ticket was sold at the Bandit Truck Plaza on I-78 in New Smithville, just west of Allentown.
These tickets are just two of the 172 Match 5 winning tickets sold since the Mega Millions game was changed one year ago with the goal of building larger jackpots faster, offering more million-dollar prizes and better overall odds of winning any prize, all while keeping the ticket price unchanged at $1. Most of the Match 5 second-tier winners through the October 14 drawing have been at the $1 million level; 11 of them won between $2 and $5 million because those tickets included the optional Megaplier purchase for an additional $1.
