The next Mega Millions drawing on Halloween could provide a great treat for lucky players, as the estimated jackpot for the October 31 drawing is $284 million ($172 million cash option). No ticket matched all six numbers (3, 50, 57, 58 and 60, plus the Mega Ball of 11) on October 28. The jackpot has been growing since it was last won in California at $180 million on August 22.
There was a $1 million Match 5 winning ticket sold in Missouri for Friday night’s drawing, the state’s second $1 million Mega Millions winner this month.
The estimated $284 million jackpot will be the 11th largest in Mega Millions history, and the largest since a $414 million prize was split between winners in Florida and Maryland on March 18. Three winning tickets shared the record jackpot of $656 million on March 30, 2012, one each in Illinois, Kansas and Maryland.
