There was one jackpot winning ticket in the January 25, 2013 Mega Millions drawing. The winning ticket was bought in Orange, New Jersey. The jackpot was an estimated $89 million.

NEW JERSEY SELLS JACKPOT WINNING MEGA MILLIONS TICKET WORTH $65.7 MILLION
TRENTON (Jan. 28, 2013) – Carole Hedinger, Executive Director of the New Jersey Lottery, announced that one New Jersey Lottery ticket has matched all five numbers and the Gold Mega Ball drawing numbers winning the Mega Millions cash JACKPOT prize of $65.7 MILLION for the Friday, Jan. 25 drawing.
The lucky winning ticket was sold in ESSEX COUNTY at LISA’S ANGEL CORP, 328 MAIN ST. in ORANGE. The ticket was purchased requesting the cash option which grosses $65.7 million. If an annuity prize would have been selected the prize amount would gross $89 million.
“Congratulations to the winner and to LISA’S ANGEL CORP,” said Hedinger. “For selling the winning Jackpot ticket, this retailer has become one ‘exceptionally lucky location’ overnight.”
Three third-prize winning tickets, worth $10,000 each, were also sold in New Jersey for the Friday, Jan. 25 drawing. The third prize is awarded when a ticket correctly matches the four white balls and the Gold Mega Ball.
In addition to the Garden State’s Jackpot and third-prize winners, 31,903 other New Jersey players took home $137,762 in prizes ranging from $2 to $150, according to Hedinger.
The winning numbers for the Friday, Jan. 25 drawing were: 11, 12, 17, 31 and 48 and the Gold Mega Ball number was 1. The Megaplier number was 04. The Mega Millions jackpot resets to $12,000,000 for the next drawing, to be held on Tuesday, Jan.29 at 11:00 pm.
