Mega Millions ticket worth $4 million sold in Texas

RELEASE DATE: 1/18/2014

A $4 million prize awaits the lucky holder of a winning Match 5 Mega Millions ticket in Texas. The ticket, which included the optional Megaplier purchase for an extra $1, is worth $4 million thanks to the 4x Megaplier drawn on January 17. The ticket correctly matched the five white balls – 1, 10,  26, 31 and 51 – but missed the Mega Ball of 11.

The $4 million winning ticket was sold at the Right Choice Food Mart #9 in San Antonio, Texas. It is the second Megaplied Match 5 prize won in Texas since Mega Millions was relaunched in October; the first was worth $5 million. North Carolina and Pennsylvania have also sold Match 5 winning tickets that included the Megaplier, worth $3 and $5 million, respectively.

Friday’s drawing also produced a $1 million Match 5 winning ticket sold in Maryland. The Mega Millions jackpot rolls to $51 million for the January 21 drawing.
