More than 2.3 million winning tickets were sold for the June 3 Mega Millions drawing, but none of them matched all six numbers drawn, so the estimated jackpot for next Tuesday, June 7, is an impressive $260 million ($173 million cash). If won, that would be the 18th largest jackpot in the history of the game!
The winning numbers for June 3 are 32, 54, 65, 66 and 71, plus the Mega Ball 10. One ticket, sold in Long Beach, Calif., matched the first five numbers to win the game’s second prize.
Since the jackpot was last won on March 8 in Washington, there have been more than 34.4 million winning tickets sold at all prize levels. More than 4.1 million of those winners included the optional Megaplier on their tickets (an extra $1 purchase, available in most states), multiplying their winnings by as much as five times.
Four of the 29 Match 5 winning tickets sold during this time frame included the Megaplier, for prizes of $5 million (Wyoming), $4 million (Texas), $3 million (North Dakota) and $2 million (Ohio). The amounts won in North Dakota and Wyoming represented the largest lottery prizes ever awarded in those small lottery states!
