Prizes of $100 or less may be redeemed at any lottery retailer. Prizes of any amount may be redeemed at the Lottery offices in Pierre, Rapid City, or Sioux Falls.

Subscriptions

The South Dakota Lottery does not offer a subscription service.

Beneficiary Information

The South Dakota Lottery funds education, lowers property taxes, and develops natural resources.

Retailer Bonus Structure

• Retailers who sell a winning Mega Millions jackpot ticket will receive a $50,000 incentive commission.
• Retailers who sell a winning Mega Millions $250,000 second prize ticket will receive a $10,000 incentive commission.
• Retailers who sell a winning Mega Millions $10,000 third prize ticket will receive a $1,000 incentive commission.

Tax Information

The South Dakota Lottery is required by the IRS to withhold 25% from prizes of more than $5,000. The State of South Dakota does not tax Lottery winnings.
