For the first time in more than four months, the Mega Millions jackpot has climbed past the $300 million mark. After no ticket matched all six numbers drawn Friday night, the estimated jackpot for the next drawing on Tuesday, May 14, is $316 million ($195.5 million cash). The winning numbers for May 10 are the white balls 3, 16, 21, 61 and 62, plus the gold Mega Ball 19.
As the jackpot grows, more players are winning prizes at all levels – the May 10 drawing produced a total of 706,456 winning tickets. One ticket, sold in Georgia, matched the five white balls to win the game’s second prize of $1 million. Twenty tickets matched four white balls plus the Mega Ball for the $10,000 third prize; three of those are actually worth $20,000 because they included the optional Megaplier, which was 2X on Friday night.
Since the last jackpot was won on March 12, there have been more than 10.1 million winning tickets at all prize levels, including 14 worth $1 million or more.
In addition to the March 12 jackpot won in Missouri, other jackpots won this year include $437 million in New York on January 1 (the eighth largest jackpot in the game’s history) and $273 million in New Jersey on March 1.
