The excitement is building! Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot will be an estimated $339 million ($210.5 million cash); if won at that level, it would be the 13th largest jackpot in the history of the game! The jackpot keeps rolling after no ticket matched all six numbers drawn on May 14 – the white balls 11, 59, 66, 67 and 68, plus the gold Mega Ball 18.
Since the last jackpot was won in Missouri on March 12, there have been more than 10.9 million winning tickets at all prize levels, including 15 worth $1 million or more.
For the May 14 drawing, there were a total of 749,045 winning tickets at all prize levels. One ticket, sold in Oregon, matched the five white balls to win the game’s second prize of $1 million. Twenty-seven tickets matched four white balls plus the Mega Ball for the $10,000 third prize; four of those are actually worth $40,000 because they included the optional Megaplier, which was 4X on Tuesday night.
In addition to the $50 million prize won on March 12, other Mega Millions jackpots awarded this year include $437 million in New York on January 1 (the eighth largest in the game’s history) and $273 million in New Jersey on March 1.
