RELEASE DATE: 12/14/2019
There are just three more Mega Millions drawings before Christmas, so there are several more chances for a very merry Christmas for one or more lucky ticket holders as the jackpot keeps rolling!
An estimated jackpot of $372 million ($251.6 million cash) will be up for grabs next Tuesday, December 17, after no ticket matched all six numbers drawn Friday night – the white balls 17, 21, 29, 39 and 56, plus the gold Mega Ball 22. If won at that level on Tuesday, it would be the 14th largest prize in the history of the game!
While the jackpot remains elusive, there were more than a million other winning tickets in the December 13 drawing – a total of 1,031,614 winning tickets at all prize levels. Thirty-one tickets matched the four white balls plus the Mega Ball to win the game’s $10,000 third prize. Five of those are actually worth $30,000 each because they included the optional Megaplier (an extra purchase available in most states), which was 3X on Friday night.
Since the last jackpot was won in Texas on September 24, there have been almost 12.5 million winning tickets at all prize levels, including 17 worth $1 million or more.
The Mega Millions jackpot has been won six times to date in 2019, with winners in six different states: New York ($437 million on January 1), New Jersey ($273 million on March 1), Missouri ($50 million on March 12), California ($522 million on June 7), New Hampshire ($168 million on July 23), and Texas ($225 million on September 24). The lucky winner in New Hampshire was that state’s very first Mega Millions jackpot winner.
