The Mega Millions® jackpot continues to roll! After no tickets matched all six numbers drawn Tuesday night – the white balls 4, 27, 32, 57 and 63, plus the gold Mega Ball 22 – the estimated jackpot for Friday, May 7, is an estimated $370 million ($254.1 million cash). It’s just the second time in almost a year that the jackpot has reached this level!
As the jackpot grows, so does the number of winning tickets at all other prize levels – there were a total of 891,150 winning tickets in the May 4 drawing, including four that matched the five white balls to win the game’s $1 million second prize. One of those, sold in Washington, included the optional Megaplier (an extra $1 purchase available in most states) and is worth $3 million after the 3X Megaplier was drawn Tuesday night. The other three Match 5 winning tickets were sold in California, Missouri and Pennsylvania.
For matching the four white balls plus the Mega Ball, 28 tickets won $10,000 each; four of those are actually worth $30,000 each because they also included the optional Megaplier.
In total, since the jackpot was last won on February 16, there have been more than 13.1 million winning tickets at all prize levels, including 21 worth $1 million or more.
There have been two Mega Millions jackpot winners to date in 2021. The first was the incredible $1.05 billion prize on January 22 that went to a group of players in Michigan; it was the second-largest jackpot in the history of the game. Not even a month later, $96 million was won by a New York couple on February 16.
