Van Wert has been buzzing since a $60 million Mega Millions ticket was purchased there on St. Patrick’s Day. The Happy Trails Trust, represented by Shaun A. Putman, Esq., has finally claimed the prize. Winners must validate and cash their winning ticket within 180 days of the drawing date.
The winner opted for the cash option of $30 million. After state and federal taxes of 26.75%, the trust will receive $21,975,000.
The winning numbers were 4-11-18-38-50 + 24. The auto-pick ticket matched all five white balls and the Mega Ball.
The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 290,472,336.
The winning ticket was purchased at Tyler’s Short Stop located at 714 E. Main St. in Van Wert. They will receive a Mega Millions retailer selling bonus of $60,000.
