A better retirement for Indianapolis couple Drawing Date: 1/4/2022 January 13, 2022 - Sam Gadsen plays Hoosier Lottery draw games daily citing the enjoyment of playing and chances of winning. The night of January 4, as he watched the Mega Millions® drawing from his couch, he watched five of his numbers match, only missing the Mega Ball. He sat in disbelief; he had just won $1 million. After the last number was drawn, he reached over for his soda, took a drink and smiled. The next afternoon he told his wife that they needed to visit the Lottery office. When she asked why, he told her the news. Previously they enjoyed winning prizes at a much smaller level, but this was different. Upon hearing the news of the $1 million win, she responded with nervousness and cried. Sam is retired from Amtrak. The couple plans on taking a couple of trips, buying a new car and saving for the rest of their retirement.
