CONCORD, N.H. – A $5 million Mega Millions winning ticket was sold in Keene for the drawing last night, Friday, March 21. The ticket was sold at the Park Avenue Deli & Market, 30 Park Avenue. The $5 million ticket marks the largest Mega Millions winning ticket sold in New Hampshire since the New Hampshire Lottery began offering the game in January 2010. Additionally, a $100,000 winning Gimme 5 ticket was sold last night in Bedford.
“It is so thrilling to have a big winning ticket like this sold in New Hampshire! We are so excited to meet our $5 million winner,” said Charlie McIntyre, Executive Director of the New Hampshire Lottery. “With a $5 million Mega Millions winner, a $1 Million Powerball winner earlier in the week, and a $100,000 Gimme 5 winning ticket sold last night as well, New Hampshire means lucky!”
The lucky Mega Millions player bought a ticket and “megaplied” it for $1 more per set of numbers. With the megaplier number 5, $1 million was multiplied by 5 to generate the $5 million prize.
The winning numbers for Mega Millions last night were: 2 23 30 35 53 and the Mega Ball: 10.
Mega Millions tickets cost $1 per play. Drawings are held Tuesday and Friday nights at 11:00 p.m.
The New Hampshire Lottery is also looking forward to meeting the lucky $100,000 Gimme 5 top prize winner, who bought a winning ticket at the Worthens Irving, Route 101 West in Bedford last night, March 21. This is the sixth $100,000 winning Gimme 5 ticket sold in New Hampshire and the 11th top prize sold throughout Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont, with three winners in Maine and two in Vermont.
“Players love the Gimme 5 game, which gives them a chance to win $100,000 three times per week,” McIntyre said.
The winning Gimme 5 numbers last night were: 3 17 31 33 34.
Gimme 5 players choose five numbers from 1 to 39. If players match all five winning numbers, they win the top prize of $100,000. Other prizes range from $2 to $250. Tickets cost $1. Gimme 5 drawings take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
These big winners come just a few days after Paula Giuffrida of Hampstead won $1 million in the Powerball drawing on Wednesday, March 19. Paula purchased her lucky winning ticket at Store and More, Sandown Road in East Hampstead matching all five numbers and not the Powerball. Paula claimed her winning ticket on Thursday, March 20.
Wednesday’s winning Powerball numbers were: 2 19 23 34 43 and the Powerball: 14.
