The first day of March brought four big Mega Millions winners, including one $5 million winner. Match 5 winning tickets were sold in California, Florida, Illinois and South Carolina; the lucky Florida winner purchased the optional Megaplier for an extra $1. With the 5x Megaplier drawn, that ticket is worth a whopping $5 million.
In total, more than 1.3 million winning tickets were sold at all prize levels for the March 1 drawing.
The winning numbers drawn Tuesday night were 1, 29, 33, 34 and 55, plus the Mega Ball 6. Since no ticket matched all six numbers including the Mega Ball, the jackpot rolls to $144 million ($94 million cash) for the next drawing on Friday, March 4. It has been growing since last won for $169 million in New York on January 8.
