For the second time in 2016, a Mega Millions jackpot has been won in Washington State! One ticket sold matched all six numbers drawn Tuesday night: 3, 34, 54, 65 and 66, plus the Mega Ball 4. Earlier this year on March 8, a Seattle-area resident won a $157 million jackpot. Tuesday’s prize was much more modest – an estimated $25 million ($17 million cash), as the jackpot had just been hit on July 8.
Tuesday night also produced another big Megaplier winner, as a lucky Texas ticket-holder included the optional Megaplier to win $5 million on a Match 5 winning ticket. It’s the 17th Megaplied Match 5 winning ticket this year, and the seventh worth the maximum $5 million.
Four jackpots have been won this year – two in Washington, one in New York, and the $536 million prize won July 8 in Indiana. The winner of that prize, the third-largest in Mega Millions history, has yet to come forward.
