A jackpot of $61 million ($37 million cash) was won in California Friday night, as one ticket matched all six numbers drawn – the white balls 6, 13, 18, 20 and 31 plus the gold Mega Ball 13. California’s winning ticket was sold in Laguna Hills.
The April 28 drawing also produced one Match 5 winning ticket, sold in Ohio and worth $1 million.
Since the jackpot was last won on March 31, there have been more than 7.9 million winning tickets at all prize levels, including six tickets worth $1 million or more. Since January 1, more than 42.3 million winning tickets have been sold, 28 worth $1 million or more.
This is third Mega Millions jackpot won this year, following a $191 million win in California on January 27 and a $177 million prize in Arkansas on March 31. The jackpot resets to $15 million for the next drawing on Tuesday, May 2.
