As the summer heats up, so does the Mega Millions jackpot! After no ticket matched all six numbers drawn Tuesday night – the white balls 17, 25, 29, 39 and 60, plus the gold Mega Ball 19 – an estimated $232 million prize ($139.5 million cash) will be offered on Friday, June 29. It’s the largest Mega Millions jackpot in almost three months.
There were two Match 5 winning tickets Tuesday night worth at least $1 million, one each in California and Maryland. Eighteen tickets matched four white balls plus the Mega Ball for the game’s $10,000 third prize, but seven of those are actually worth $20,000 each because they included the optional Megaplier (available in most states for an extra $1 purchase).
In total, Tuesday’s drawing produced a total of 603,458 winning tickets at all prize levels. Since the last jackpot was won on May 4, there have been almost 7.1 million winning tickets at all prize levels, including 16 worth $1 million or more.
The jackpot was last won in Ohio on May 4, when the ABC XYZ Trust collected $142 million. Two other jackpots have been awarded this year – $451 million on January 5 (in Florida) and $533 million on March 30 (in New Jersey). The latter prize is the fourth largest in the history of Mega Millions.
